Abstract

Regular physical activity, in addition to the aesthetic effect, improves the quality of life, has a positive effect on health and reduces the possibility of many diseases. Engaging in physical activity contributes to the development of self-awareness, personal satisfaction and self-esteem. There are many programs that have developed within fitness, one of those programs is aqua fitness. At one point, practice from gyms and halls "moved" to swimming pools and a new form of exercise, better known as "aqua fitness", was born. The positive effect of water is reflected in the physiological, psychological and emotional aspects. Numerous studies talk about the positive impact of aqua fitness on women's mental health (in Hungary, Spain, China, Brazil, Mexico, Poland and Korea). The aim of this research is to determine the benefits of aqua fitness, through a Well-being questionnaire on the mental health of women. After research and data processing, it was confirmed that aqua fitness has a positive effect on the women. Although the number of research examining the effect of water and water exercise on mental health is relatively small, with this study we contributed to existing research. In this way, we further strengthened the view that aqua fitness has a positive effect on mental health.
