BODY HEIGHT AS THE DOMINANT FACTOR IN MODERN VOLLEYBALL GAME
Keywords:

Observing and analysis of the development of volleyball has shown that the
tendency of modern volleyball is increasingly moving towards
rationalization of movement in the game, and the ease of winning game
points. In addition, it is evident that this tendency is a dominant factor in the
form of body height, which results in more frequent wins for the teams that
have an average height of players of around 2min their lineup. Dominance in
the body height is not important only for middle blockers, but also for
players who have their roles in spiking, digging, blocking, and even those
who are in the role of the libero. The expressiveness of the anthropometric
variables is also represented in the spike service, which is becoming an
increasingly effective means of attack. When the motor skills are adequately
developed to be consistent with the level of body height, then a team game is
gaining stability and continuity in the achievement of results.
